Brief about this Application:
Iphone has become so popular that iphone applications have become benchmark for comparing to any other application being released. So it doesn’t really matter is the application is being developed for symbian or any other platform, every possible effort is being made to give it the look and functionaluity of an iphone application. One such application being developed for symbian platform, called iSMS is also being developed on similar lines[...]
Just like in iphone you get to see incoming and outgoing messages as a conversation, the same goes with this application also. Free-iSMS displays your messages in threads but that’s not it. There are many other features to couple to this feature. With this application installed in your symbian phone you can also schedule your messages, this means that you can time stamp your messages and the message will be dispatched at that particular time which you have already set. That can be quite a useful feature if you tend to forget things.
Another utility of this application is that you can also send fake messages to yourself. However I don’t see the exact utility of this feature, as to why you would like to see the message sent by you to yourself. Moreover this feature is also very buggy as you can only make fake incoming messages with the date set to 2009 or later. That’s some really useless utility. Another bug that can be spotted easily is that the incoming and outgoing messages are displayed as threads but the messages in your custom folders can’t be displayed in such format.
So these are some issues that need to fixed as soon as possible along with some more advancements to be made in this application so that it can be used flawlessly.
