Sometimes it happens that someone else is using your phone and suddenly a message comes and gets displayed on the screen. It could be that there is something very personal which you would not have wanted to share with anyone. Under such circumstances you would like to turn off this feature. This can be done very easily without any fuss. You need not install any application but this feature is inbuilt and can be done from within the iphone.
What you need to do is simply go to Settings -> Passcode Lock. Enter your passcode you have set already and if by chance you don’t use any password, you will have to set a new password in order to use this feature. As soon as you enter the password, iPhone will bring up a setting screen that allows you to turn off “Show SMS Preview“. That’s about it how you can turn off this feature. From next time onwards when a message appear in your iphone, it will display the conventional “text message” screen rather than poping up the preview of the message.
